該來的還是來了-今天被雷了, 同時也遞上我的早準備好的辭職書.

If you have seen my post before, you probably know my situation.

Due to the high expectation from my manager, I got laid off just in 4 months..... basically this position requires me to be able to handle new application creation, bug fix and do support ticket simultaneously. (what they called multi-tasking)

I inherited two applications that previous 2 consults left(being let go like me also) and have to do lots of bug fix....due to the complexity level how these projects are set up...it took me lots of effort to get more comfortable with it.

I missed 2 releases (they have weekly releases) . Not because of I didn't finish what I am supposed to do before the release, it's due to my manager asked BA (who was hired the same day as me, so he is pretty new also) to do QA testing. This new BA buy doesn't know much about the application either...so he recorded every issue that the previous developer didn't do / missed or whatever he thinks is not right.

He always started testing late, which is just the release day or 1 -2 days before. Then the manager expected me to fix all the new issues that BA found. I didn't have enough time to look into those newly found issues just being found about the release date...so I missed the Thursday release, one time I let manager knew beforehand as early as Wednesday night so the next day he gave me a PIP.. today is Thursday again, the new issue was found this morning and obviously I didn't have time to fix it so I missed today's release ....Those are all blamed as my performance issue. He even said :"we gave you a lot of money , your title is developer  3 , no one in the company as developer gets that high salary, but your performance doesn't meet our expectation"

so right after he present me the lay off paperwork from HR...I gave him my resignation letter I kept in my bag since this Monday. (I prepared this after he talked to me about being on the PIP)...in the resignation letter I basically said this job is not a good fit for me and I want to quit.

Never have I worked in such a tough place before..I feel such a relief walking out of the door... this is the job that I feel most exhausted with , yet got me in to the worst situation, I will just take a break, then move on to find something better...not sure how soon it will happen to me. But we will see.  I have worked for the past 10 years without being laid off or any break...now I feel like I failed and I also need a break
