My impression: it is all about I, I, I, me, me, me. You got to convince the employer that you are the best candidate for this position. Let me quote JFK and twist the wording:

Ask not what the company can do for you, but what you can do for the company.

They don't care what you want, they do care what they want, what benefit/value you can bring in.

如何應對over-qualify的問題,最佳答案在周會公報裏提過好幾次了:I will bring more value to this position. In another words, hire me, you will get more from me than others. It's the striking words to HM. Sell youself, you got to have marketing/sales mind.
