據鳳凰衛視報道，美國總統特朗普於9月25日簽署一項總統備忘錄，批準在華盛頓執行死刑。

他還開玩笑稱，華盛頓是“死刑首都”。特朗普強調，華盛頓已經連續四周沒有出現死亡案件，“從全美最危險的城市變成最安全的城市”。
