據官方統計，佛州、佐治亞州、北卡州、南卡羅來納州與弗吉尼亞州都有人喪命，至少有44人遇難，死者包括3名消防員、一名女子與她的1個月大雙胞胎，以及一名89歲的老婦，她的房子被倒塌的樹木壓中。

擔心水壩潰決 居民被令撤離
在田納西州，由於擔心紐波特市（Newport）附近的沃特斯（Walters）水壩將潰決，官員下令要市區居民撤離，有3萬6000名居民將被疏散。
北卡羅來納州另一座水壩也瀕臨潰堤。官員警告路爾湖大壩（Lake Lure Dam）附近的居民立即撤至地勢較高地點，稱“水壩即將潰決”。
