Is that how you interpret history? Bonus March incident is not all that much different in nature from that of TMS. Both involve a group of people demonstrate in their capitals to vent their grievence to their governments. Both government decided to evict crowd, that they perceived as unlawful disruption of law and order, at the point of bayonets. We argue about the details such as the scale, the violence and culpability of individuals. But, all these do change the nature of the events.
By the way, Eisenhower did not disagree with the action itself. He merely considered inadvisable for MacArthur as the chief staff of the Army to show up in person and in full dress of military regalia to lead a charge against fellow American war veterans.
