基本上，意思跟和合本的翻譯差不多。

我個人的翻譯如下：我黑，耶路撒冷的女子卻可愛/美麗，【兩者的對照】就像基達的帳篷之於所羅門的幔子！

基達的帳篷是黑的，一般認為是用駱駝毛作的，如果真是這樣，它就是不潔淨的（利十一4）。無論如何，它顏色單調不可愛，一點都不悅人眼目。

但所羅門的幔子卻不同，它是用藍色線、紫色線、朱紅色線和細麻織成的；並且還繡上基路伯的形像，無論是材料還是做工都很講究，圖案也是非常美麗，而且盡顯高貴。

如果我的翻譯是對的，那麽舒拉密女在這裏表達的完全是自卑，她自慚形穢，她覺得跟耶路撒冷的女子相比，簡直就是一個鄉巴佬——醜陋，低下，卑微；不像耶路撒冷的女子美麗、尊貴、榮耀。
