hoops – 用作複數也指,(the game of) basketball;
比如說play hoops – play basketball; 打籃球
be動詞 + being + 形容詞: 句型是指某人隻是在此刻是那樣子的(並非常態); (is/am/are) 剛剛或過去的某一刻(was/were); 這樣說有強烈的感情色彩;
be動詞 + 形容詞: 某人是怎麽樣的(常態)
比如剛剛朋友心情不好而說了些傻話,我們就可以說:You are being silly.
有人對我們說了不禮貌的話或做了冒犯的舉動
可以說:You are being rude! (你很沒禮貌!)

chicken out on sb. – ( Inf.) to decide not to do sth. for or with sb.. 慫了,因為害怕,決定不為誰做什麽事情, 或者不和別人一起幹什麽
Jason chickened out on us and won't be going with us.
Jason害怕了,不跟我們去了。
She bailed on me after all we had been through together. 我們在一起經曆了所有這些事後, 她竟然拋棄了我。
