Dear Dr. C:
Thank you very much for interviewing me on XXX . As you have mentioned to me, we have similar backgrounds in terms of possessing both strong clinical and research backgrounds. To gain training in both aspects definitely takes a longer time to achieve. But in the long run, I think it is worth the effort.
Also, I thank you for informing me that there are multiple possibilities for the career development for a person with dual training in clinical and research. Dr. K mentioned something similar, using your career experience as an example. I will seriously consider it when it is time for me to do so. I hope I can get more detailed information from you should that time come.
I like this program very much. I am especially happy with the great working relationship here between the faculty members and the residents. My research background in XXX and XXX study fits your research projects very well. Once I am accepted to this program, doing research on role of XXX in alcohol addiction will be more productive and relatively effortless for me. Apart from experimental methods that I have mastered, especially the real-time PCR, I am also well trained in statistical data analysis, data presentation including preparation and presentation in the form of poster, 10-20 minutes talk and manuscript (needs some revision by my mentor).
As regard to the details in real-time PCR and related methods, we had limited time to discuss that in length. I would be more than happy to discuss it further with you and share my experience. I know a lot of details and small tricks for this method, and I have been discussing with people in XXXX and from other areas all the time.
Again, thank you very much for your interest in interviewing and getting to know me better. I sincerely hope I can have the opportunity to start working with you next year.
Best Regards
Sincerely
Riverside
Riverside,
I was pleased to be able to meet with you as well. I trust the remainder of your day went well. I have recommended you to Dr. Xiu as an excellent candidate for our program.
Regards,
XXX CXXXXXX
Dear Dr. C:
Yes, I felt very good for the other interviews with Dr. Xiu, Dr. K, and Dr. D. Hopefully they felt the same way as me.
I always enjoy great work relationship with people around me. For example, this is evidenced by a letter my supervisor wrote for my clinical fellowship in XXXX at XXXX in XXXX. I have many letters of recommendation, so I did not have a chance to include this one in my application. The reason being, apart from finishing my clinical and research duties with a very high standard, I always have more to offer in terms of helping others with statistical analysis etc.
The reality of this world is, one's value is determined by how much he can help others. The more he can and is willing to offer, the more he is liked by others. If everybody can contribute more than his share, the world would be a perfect world. I hope I can demonstrate what I can contribute to this program in the near future.
Thank you very much for recommending me to Dr. Xiu. I know how heavy the opinion of the faculty members weighs. I am looking forward for joining this program in the near future.
Best Regards
Riverside
