US the most warlike nation in the history of the world: Carter
TEHRAN, Apr. 15 (MNA) –Former US President Jimi Carter says the US has been at war for all but 16 years of its 242-year history to force others to adopt American principles.
Earlier this year former President Carter sent President Trump a letter with some advice about managing the US-China relationship. Carter oversaw the normalization of diplomatic relations between the countries 40 years ago.
And on Saturday evening, Trump called Carter to talk about it. It was the first time they’d spoken, Carter said. He said Trump said the particularly concerned about how China is “getting ahead of us.”
Carter agreed that’s true, according to www.wabe.org. 
“And do you know why? I normalized diplomatic relations with China in 1979. Since 1979 do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody? None. And we have stayed at war,” he said.
The US, Carter said, has been at war for all but 16 years of its 242-year history.
He called the United States “the most warlike nation in the history of the world,” because of a tendency to try to force others to “adopt our American principles.”
Carter suggested that instead of war, China has been investing in its own infrastructure, mentioning that China has 18,000 miles of high-speed railroad.
“How many miles of high-speed railroad do we have in this country?”
Zero, the congregation answered.
“We have wasted I think $3 trillion,” Carter said of American military spending. “… It’s more than you can imagine. China has not wasted a single penny on war and that’s why they’re ahead of us. In almost every way.
“And I think the difference is if you take $3 trillion and put it in American infrastructure you’d probably have $2 trillion leftover. We’d have high-speed railroad. We’d have bridges that aren’t collapsing, we’d have roads that are maintained properly. Our education system would be as good as that of say South Korea or Hong Kong.
“I wasn’t comparing my country adversely to China,” Carter qualified. “I was just pointing that out because I happened to get a phone call last night.”
He said he understood that Trump is worried about China surpassing the US as the world’s top economic superpower.
“I don’t really fear that time, but it bothers President Trump and I don’t know why. I’m not criticizing him — this morning,” Carter said to laughs from the audience.
Much of Carter’s Palm Sunday lesson went beyond politics, to focus on the importance of bringing virtues like peace and kindness to today’s world, and how, he said, God has given each person the freedom and the power to change their own life.
He spoke to a congregation of mostly visitors, many of whom had arrived overnight to get in line for the service. That’s become commonplace for his biweekly Sunday School lessons. 
Last month Carter became the nation’s longest-living president.

The rare outstanding rational politician of former US president Jimmy Carter

In this world, nothing is absolute; though electoral democracy is not perfect, but, the most of electorally elected presidents were rational with a clear sense what should do, but they were disabled by the kidnap of populist. But, Jimmy Carter is outstanding by great achievements on the same restricted performance stage.

As my view, this was only rational comments on barbaric manner of the United States’ politicians, who have no instinct for making good but were full of bad ideas in brain for making bad.

Obviously, Jimmy Carter is one of the most rational presidents in the US, he dared point out the absurd of own political system, and why he did not fear about China for wars since that China is rational and tends in peace.

Here, there is necessary to mention something about the wars of China, in fact, since the founding of the People's Republic of China, China has had fights in all major surrounding neighbors.

The 1950 Korean War that China defeated the United Nations Army of the 21 countries that gathered by the great US.

The 1962 Sino-Indian War.

The 1969 Sino-Soviet Treasure Island War.

The 1979 Sino-Vietnamese War.

For the war in 1979, there is necessary to talk about a little more, it was a brief border war fought between China and Vietnam. China launched an offensive in response to Vietnam's invasion and occupation of Cambodia in 1978.

In January 1979 Chinese Vice-premier Deng Xiaoping visited the United States, and told the American president Jimmy Carter that China planned a punitive action against Vietnamese, and got the help. After the Sino-Vietnamese war started, by phone call, president Carter warns the Soviet Union and avoided the Soviet Union taking military adventures against China.

當地時間18日,大洋彼岸傳來消息,稱現年98歲的美國前總統吉米·卡特將不再進行進一步治療,開始在家中接受臨終關懷。

卡特於1977年至1981年出任美國第39任總統,是當年中美建交的當事人和見證者。無論是就任總統期間還是卸任之後,他都一直致力於推動中美關係發展。他曾表示,與中國建交是他作為美國總統取得的最偉大的成就之一。

將與家人共度最後時光

據美媒報道,18日,美國史上最長壽的總統卡特目前正在佐治亞州的家中接受臨終關懷。

美國卡特中心發表聲明稱,在經曆一係列短暫入院治療後,卡特決定,將與家人一起度過他人生中的最後一段時光,並不再尋求進一步治療。

近年來,卡特遭受了一係列健康危機。其中包括擴散至肝髒和大腦的黑色素瘤,以及反複跌倒。

1924年,卡特出生於美國花生農民家庭。1962年,他開始就任佐治亞州民主黨參議員,1971年,卡特成為佐治亞州第76屆州長。卡特於1974年參加民主黨總統提名競選,並於1976年贏得美國民主黨總統提名,同年11月當選為總統。1977年,卡特正式入主白宮,成為美國第39任總統。

任期內,卡特政府的重要外交政策成就包括巴拿馬運河條約、戴維營協議、埃以和約、與蘇聯的雙邊限製戰略武器條約以及中美兩國正式建立外交關係等。2002年,卡特獲得諾貝爾和平獎。

晚年的卡特依然壯心不已。卡特夫婦一起創辦了卡特中心,致力於協調國際衝突;作為美國埃默裏大學的名譽教授,他還時常給年輕的大學生上課;卡特夫婦還積極為全球範圍內的無家可歸者啟動住房工程,常常不顧年事已高,親自參加施工為無家可歸者搭建福利房;此外,他還是一名勤奮的作家,迄今為止,他已出版了數十本書。

“中美建交是最偉大成就”

在卡特任期內的外交成就中,與中國建交,是他最為自豪的決定之一。

1979年1月1日,中國和美國建立正式的外交關係,掀開了中美關係新的一頁。作為這一曆史性事件的當事人,卡特曾多次回憶起這件重要的往事。

2008年,在中美建交30周年即將到來之際,卡特在卡特中心接受新華社、《人民日報》等中國駐美記者的聯合采訪。

他表示,自己的生日與中國國慶節是同一天,即10月1日。因此有人對他說,他成為中國的朋友是命中注定。

卡特回憶稱,他當選美國總統後,覺得改變對華政策的時機到了,便把與中國建交列入了議事日程。1978年初,他和鄧小平就建交問題進行了一係列秘密談判。為了保密,他甚至都沒有讓國務院經手,所有有關建交談判的信息都直接從白宮發往中國。

卡特認為,與中國建交是正確的,“它是我作為美國總統取得的最偉大的成就之一”。建交對美國來說是一件史無前例的大好事,對中國也產生了巨大的影響。美中兩國建交還穩定了遠東和亞洲的政治軍事局勢,也穩定了世界局勢。

積極推動中美關係發展

除了在任期間積極推動中美兩國打破隔離狀態,卸任後的卡特也多次訪華,並為中美兩國關係發展作出努力。

2008年,在談及中美關係的未來時,卡特說,他一直在為美中關係祈禱,希望美中兩國能始終保持友好密切的關係。當時,卡特強調,未來美中的競爭將越來越強,這一點在經濟領域已經表現得非常明顯,但他認為這是一種健康的競爭關係。“如果我們能始終保持相互尊重和信任,這種競爭將是和平的、互利雙贏的,對兩國都將有益無害”。

2019年,在中美建交40周年之際,卡特在“紀念中美建交40周年暨第七屆卡特中心中美關係研討會”上致辭說,美中自1979年正式建交後,不僅兩國實現了更快更好的經濟增長,東亞地區也從此前的戰亂和衝突走向和平與穩定。中美建交40年來為兩國繁榮和地區和平、穩定作出貢獻。

同樣是2019年,白宮當時證實,時任美國總統特朗普給卡特打電話,兩人談論了當時正在進行的美中貿易談判等一係列問題。卡特透露,特朗普表示,他為中國“正在走到我們的前麵”感到不安。卡特表示認同特朗普的說法但並不擔心。

“你知道原因嗎?1979年,中美正式建交。你知道從那以後中國發動了幾次戰爭嗎?零。而我們一直在打仗。”卡特對特朗普說,“美國在242年的建國曆史中僅有16年沒有打仗,堪稱‘世界曆史上最好戰的國家’,因為美國總是想迫使其他人采用美國的原則。美國浪費了3萬億美元在軍費開支上,而中國沒有將一分錢浪費在戰爭上,這就是他們在各個方麵正走在我們前麵的原因。”

2019年1月,卡特還曾給特朗普寫信,建議成立一個由6人組成的專家小組,在幕後協助改善與中國的關係。他在接受美國媒體采訪時表示,從長遠來看,美國人民會發現,與中國好好相處對我們自身的繁榮、我們自身的和平與美好的生活至關重要。
