Assuming all the space in the pot was filled, the pot would hold 271.36 ounces of gold that would be worth $427,000 based on today’s prices of gold of around $1,575 an ounce.

Of course, if you had just bought gold as an investment a few years ago, you also could have struck it rich. Gold purchased on Nov. 3, 2008, at $722 an ounce would be worth more than twice that based on today’s prices."
