靜脈注射維生素C來對付新冠病毒的臨床試驗正在進行，結果還不清楚。但有個案報道維生素C注射可以熄滅由於免疫治療而引發的細胞因子風暴。文獻1的報道病人肺積水，血氧降低 ，但每六小時一次的維生素C （劑量： 22 mg/Kg） 靜脈注射挽救了患者的生命。該案雖然病因與新冠病毒不同，但關鍵症狀相似。 另有文獻2 報道靜脈注射維生素C在 50 到 200 mg/kg的範圍內安全 。
