Julia is indeed a word alchemist. The best book I’ve read so far. To be frank, I intended to drop the book any time until I reached one fourth of the book. This is not a plot driven book, it is a brook flowing slowly and deeply into my heart, I was touched by however trivial corner it touches. Any minute, after one fourth, I felt the power of words, the power of small feelings, the power of life, hence leading to tremendous pleasure. I was told “Three Junes represents the current fashion in American fiction, being hyper-sensitive, painterly visual, medium-length and concerned with New York's gay-intellectual-arty society”, just like another tripartite story Michael Cunningham's The Hours. I can’t help loving Three Junes much more over The Hours, for the way Julia did it. Julia Glass has able hands in introducing multiple characters with rich layers of feelings, just like everyone of us in life. This is not a depressing story, nor a happy one, but optimistic. All the complexity and sophistication are settling on a simple theme - family love.

Take your time, read it slow.
