1. Zoning
Carrier Infinity uses ABCD(RS485+/RS485-/COM/24VAC, color GYWR). An example is to use 58MVB/58MVC/58CVA furnace (it has ABCD bus, HUM, all conventional terminals, and two for OAT), an infinity control (thermostat, it has ABCD bus and S1,S2), and optionally aircon (24APA5 has ABCD bus, or else you connect Y/C of condenser with furnace terminals).
Infinity control (UI, SYSTXCCUID01) acts like a thermostat, yet its internal temp sensors can be override by a remote room sensor (auto detected and override) via S1/S2 terminal on UI or OS1/OS1C on a damper control module. If outdoor device has no ABCD, an optional OAT(outdoor air temp sensor) can be added to UI or furnace OAT terminals.
When non ABCD device is used, at UI initial power up it will show outdoor unit not found and allows user to input heatpump size and speed (1 or 2) and electric heater, followed with filter, etc. Many other functions are included.
Infinity Network Interface Module (NIM SYSTXCCNIM01) allows connection of a Carrier HRV(heat recovery ventilator) or ERV(energy recovery Ventilator for non zoning, non ABCD dual fuel heat pump for dual fuel, or non ABCD two-speed aircon.
Each Infinity damper control (SYSTXCC4ZC01) module support 4 zones, max 2 modules. Evaporator mush have TXV and system shall not have bypass damper. Each zone needs a sensor, either UI, Smart Sensor (SYSTXCCSMS01), you need to set zone address) or Remote Room Sensor (SYSTXCCRRS01, often sold by four). The damper board has two ABCD bus and right one for high power units, it also have damper/sensor terminals of four zones.Infinity System Design:

Carrier damper closed at 45deg thus the dampep plate is oval. 45deg is more stable than 90deg.The damper uses 24VAC with 1NM=10lbf,three pins: on/gnd/off.
2. 58MVB
Infinity 96是Carrier的高檔係列,特點是用RS485總線UI(用戶接口--就是溫控器)稱為Infinity control而非傳統繼電器控製的thermostat。長按Advnaced紐10秒進入install/service方式。我用的是two zone分管樓上樓下,用14/12“ power damper和獨立UI。係統自動調整調整到最佳狀態,兼顧舒適和快速溫控。可以外加多點溫度探頭, 每個分區控製器支持4區,可級聯擴充。如果覺得Infinity的分區控製貴,可以用honeywell。係統表現是舒適、風量小、可調溫濕度,每噸風量可選350/400CFM。
分區控製比較適合樓房,但是係統設計施工要求較高,因此可以看到許多二層樓房用的是兩套係統,許多分區係統使用balance damper。Balance damper自身也有一些缺點,Infinity不需要,是比較好的設計。

3. 暖氣和蒸發器安裝
由6月中到10月中的周末,多半都用在了該項目上,拆除舊暖氣、煤氣管煙囪改道、出風口模具和鋸銑、DIY鐵皮箱、裝flexible和regid duct,PVC管道、加電...今天第一次試運行成功,風量不大,暖氣幾分鍾後就有感覺。
舊暖氣是floor furnace,卸掉後利用原開孔做return,不然補地麵也不好看。所有管道和總共13個出風口都是新加的。因結構限製,二樓前麵的小屋沒有加管也不打算用。
與第一套房類似,係統除coil是ADP(OEM)外全是Carrier,包括附件如thermostat。因為用了積壓/二手/DIY,價格不可複現,就不提了。網上價格,兩個溫控約700刀,2damper加分區盒更多一些,furnace/AC/coil另計。
結構上,垂直furnace/coil上是出風箱,它接14"/12" damper,14" damper與散風箱連體懸掛,後者控製一樓,並使用了兩個小箱而非wye分布;12" damper獨立懸掛再去二樓。Damper的拆裝不影響出風箱。出風箱裝了兩根角鋁,用螺絲可以把它抬高以便更換coil/furnace。分區控製器直接裝在出風箱上。有幾處箱子和管道都是DIY的,比較複雜的廚房走管有三層。挑戰在於布置管道,因為這個房子能走管的地方很少。地下室高度有限,差一點就隻能橫裝了。上二樓的管道,是在一樓浴室的tub/toilet之間的重構牆內,為此重新定位熱水器的煙囪。浴室/廚房/的管道都是在上次裝修時預留的。自己住,當然是不計成本工時,地麵出風都是地板齊平的oak register,為臥室和廳配了不同顏色。
暖氣是80K BTU、兩級氣閥、變速馬達,空調部分已經買了Payne(Carrier) 3 ton的外機和ADP的4 ton coil,當然coil已經放上了,空調以後裝。之所以用ADP一是以前用過不錯,它是多家的OEM,是銅管的;二是Carrier/Trane的coil多年前也漏過的,現在是鋁的。因為空調主要是二樓用,選了較小容量,常規thermostat接線。空氣濾清空間很大適合各種濾網(現用4吋厚的擬再加廉價粗濾)加Trion靜電除塵器(下圖3),能監測風量自動開關機,故未使用Infinity的EAC端頭。Trion的取出清洗都很方便。
上圖1-2是1/2樓用的zone controller。主控左上為zone選擇,子控用於臨時調整。主控下蓋掀開,中間啞鈴是上下光標可按HOLD鍵3/2秒來設置/恢複非占用模式,與假期模式不同的是後者自動恢複。編程可選ALL DAYS或逐日等多模式並可拷貝。右側有製熱、製冷、OFF-ON鍵,同時按製熱/製冷為自動模式。

舊的和新的:
用了1個月,效果很好。出了約10gallon水,像個除濕器似的。這兩天把預留的sump pit裝好了。Liberty sump pump自帶check vavle,但是在上平麵又加了一個,因為管道與洗衣機兼用,不想洗衣機的水往sump pit流,不加也可以,因pump下端自帶。洗衣機出水也有check valve。

Humidifier與6“管一起,分別連到出風/回風箱上。建議在電子除塵器下遊,免得水汽影響。我這冬天是雨季,室內濕度68-70,故不用加濕器。

PG&E下來檢查熱水器要我關暖氣,但先打開了煤氣管道看熱水器有無煤氣,幾秒中而已,但不知會否造成暖氣的煤氣壓力不足。人走後似乎暖氣打不開了,錯誤碼23:PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT OPEN -Check for:-Obstructed pressure tubing.- Pressure switch stuck closed.
麵板掀開後麵是錯誤碼和接線圖,機器有橡膠細管由上部燃燒室、中部煤氣閥的三通去下部BA20123 pressure switch。本係統另有分區damper,但可見角度為開且開機後Blower轉後室內風口有風,認定damper即送風道正常。注意:blower是送風扇,inducer是排風扇=排廢氣。
BA20123包括兩個壓力傳感器,左LPS=LowHeat Pressure switch是heating pressure,但錯碼31稱爲High pressure switch,貼紙1.6min-1.81max "WC;右LGPS=LowGas Pressure switch,錯碼32稱爲low pressure switch,貼紙0.81 "WC PF,這裏"WC=inch water colume=0.036psi。圖紙#8說明若產品不用LGPS則應短接。實際兩個都是NO。兩個各拔掉一線量得電阻無窮大=open,開機報錯32=low pressure switch not closed;關機插上LGPS重新開機,煤氣點火但報錯31=high pressure switch not closed,帶電插上左邊後能聽到繼電器響聲,煤氣立即停火但錯誤碼不變;關電再重開機工作正常無錯碼。次日又恢複原狀。以下簡稱HPS和LPS=LGPS。
錯碼保存72小時,可按一下步驟讀回:去除麵板和下部控製箱蓋板,PCB最左側DIP SW1-1撥為ON,錯碼由黃色LED指示,快閃為十位數慢閃為個位數,由11開始循環播出。記錄後記得把SW1-1複位。
Test: 去除麵板和下部控製箱蓋板,控製箱門開關用膠布貼下,PCB最左側DIP SW1-6撥為ON,即開始inducer、煤氣點火、blower各15秒。可沒錯碼隻有11=曆史清除。
Diag:按58MVC的步驟去ABCD總線或R,看damper是開啟位置,短接W/W1和R製熱,沒有錯碼。係統複原重新啟動,一切正常沒有錯碼。估計清除錯碼有幫助。
啟動的順序是:先自檢無動靜、blower轉一陣然後停,此時LPS一端為24VAC,另一端及HPS為0;啟動inducer一陣後LPS閉合兩端均24VAC、點火、blower中速;blower高速,HPS兩端為24VAC當為HighHeat;blower降速,其餘不變。這些説明開始時或僅blower轉時LPS是NO,然後inducer轉,LPS閉合煤氣點火且blower中速-HPS是閉合,blower轉高速且HPS打開,至此LPS和HPS的檢測完成,blower轉低速工作態。正常時壓力開關進風側、低壓廢氣側負壓>1 WC,如二者之一堵塞壓力變化則開關異常。
補遺2024.11:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWno2ACLw3s 80%暖氣爐原理。1)排風扇先轉造成負壓,壓力開關檢查正常後點火棒變紅,否則數分鍾後-例如出風道被堵-電機斷電並顯示錯碼;2)點火棒變紅後煤氣閥門打開著火,火焰感應器檢測正常並延遲60-90秒後(以免吹冷風)送風扇加電,否則煤氣閥關閉等3秒鍾重試。此時若砂光感應器外殼常可解決。3)如果點火棒不變紅,幾秒鍾後係統也會重啟並顯示錯碼。4)有自動複位及手動複位兩個高溫切斷開關,其一例如出風不暢導致機內溫度升高,其二保護在換熱器破裂可能導致火焰倒流。
低壓pressure switch 0.81 WC PF意味著開關在0.81inch water column壓力下閉合。inducer電機將廢氣排出將造成不低於1 WC的負壓,pressure switch另一軟管是燃燒室來的氣壓通常不高(否則為進氣管堵塞,同時送去煤氣閥),壓力差使得開關閉合將24V傳到煤氣閥使其開通,點火後溫度傳感器檢測到,延時後啟動blower。如果有氣壓表可測量inducer來的壓力。如果inducer出水或後續condensate trap堵塞開關不會閉合,也就無火。打開inducer至condensate trap接口可以判斷:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3Ijn-Zd7LU 90%以上furnace常見此問題,有水說明trap堵塞。
長按Infinity Control的Advnaced紐10秒進入install或service方式。允許CheckOut|Furnace,Service下Furnace Status、並查看furnace status、過往錯誤和產品型號。
LS=Limit switch測得一定溫度才閉合送風,不然一點火就送入的是冷風,FRS=Frame Rollout switch在溫度超限時斷開,兩者連用提供24VAC-R,這是24VAC的熱端,另一端是COM或接地。LPS=LowHeat Pressure switch有時與LGPS=LowGas Pressure switch連用(#8說明若無LGPS則短接),上圖經PL1-4被CPU檢測後接通GVR=Gas Valve Relay提供個GV=Gas Valve的M口電壓。如果Indurcer未轉內部凝水處堵塞或廢氣管堵塞造成負壓不足(某例堵塞時氣壓由1.46降到0.04)、燃燒進氣不足有額外壓力則LPS斷開,或煤氣有泄漏壓力不足LGPS斷開,則CPU均不會接通GVR即不點火。上麵說道LPS導通壓力是0.81WC以上。HPS是兩級Furnace用的HighHeat Pressure switch,HighHeat啟用後壓力在1.6~1.81WC時HPS接通,提供GV的HI口電壓即提供額外的煤氣源。如果不需要HighHeat,CPU將HPSR關斷即可。在inducer轉動前LPS是打開的不然報23錯,當然LPS失效或連接膠管堵塞、燃燒進氣堵塞(某例氣壓由0.06升至0.24)、CPU板檢測出錯也可能出23錯。COMMR是通信繼電器,上圖為不用ABCD接口的缺省態,否則溫控器接通R-W/W1提供24VAC給LPS。
出錯23時的強製啟動,我想是先拔去LPS,等Inducer轉動後再插上。這個錯誤也許要強製清除,比如通過Test,否則係統可能再次顯示23不點火。
WC壓力表可以DIY,把1英尺長透明管彎成U型固定在垂直板上,注入顏色水到約一半高度,由色水開始粘上刻度尺,加壓後的高度差即為inches of WC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jVl-0PdrRk
20190220: 又不加熱了。關電重開風扇轉10幾秒就停顯示Mal Function。去除麵板即可看見圓玻璃窗內綠燈亮,黃燈快閃2次慢閃3次=錯誤碼23。關電量得低壓pressure switch是導通的,拔氣管卸下來,後麵的氣管還沒拔呢再量又是斷路的,不肯定前次量的對否。仍按上法Test,沒注意到煤氣是否點燃,如前次一樣隻顯示11,合蓋開機一切正常。
