獨孤信多麵印 MW!
獨孤信多麵印是迄今發現的中國古代少有的一枚楷書印,1981年在陝西省安康市旬陽縣被發現,現藏於陝西曆史博物館。質地為煤精石,呈八棱多麵體,共有26個大小不一的印麵,其中有正方形麵18個,在14個正方形印麵上刻有不同印文,可以滿足不同的用途。三角形麵8個。印麵邊長均為2厘米,通體高4.5厘米,寬4.35厘米,重75.7克。印文為楷書陰文,書法遒勁挺拔,有濃厚的魏書意趣。該印章是已發現的印麵最多的中國古代多麵體印章,這些印文包括了從一字印到五字印的五種印文格式,功能上則囊括了公文、上書、書信,私信等多種印章功能,反映了當時印章職能已經分化。此外,印麵上共計47個印文皆為陰文楷書,表明南北朝時北方各政權通行漢字,同時它的發現證明早在南北朝時期,古人已經開始在印章中使用楷書,糾正了原先學界關於楷書入印最早為隋唐時期的觀點。

獨孤信多麵印的材質為煤精,又稱煤精石、煤玉、黑玉、黑碳石等,是一種不透明、光澤強的黑色有機寶石,由碳和有機質組成,存在於沉積岩中,是遠古樹木在溫度和壓力作用下分解而成。在中國古代,有身份的文人墨客們常用煤精石製作文房用品,比如筆筒、硯台等,同時還有製作串珠、陳設品等工藝用品。但使用煤精製作印章十分罕見,所以這枚印章被直接稱呼為“煤精印”。本品為現代青銅複製品,供文物愛好者欣賞把玩之用。
這枚印信的主人獨孤信是鮮卑族人,先後任西魏、北周重要將領,貴族高官,史書記載他"美容儀,善騎射"。獨孤信育有七女六子,其中三個女兒被封為皇後:大女兒為北周明帝宇文毓之妻明敬皇後,四女兒是唐高祖李淵的生母元貞皇後,七女兒隋文帝楊堅之妻文獻皇後,其家族與中國南北朝、隋唐曆史關係密切。因為獨孤信有三個皇後女兒,亦被後人稱為"中國第一嶽父"。

About Dugu Xin Multi-sided Seal By MW!
Dugu Xin’s multi-sided seal is a rare seal found so far in ancient China. It was discovered in 1981 at Xunyang, Shaanxi and is now exhibited in Shaanxi Museum of History.
The material of the seal is jet (a.k.a. coal jet, or coal essence). The seal is overall 45mm x 43.5mm, weights 75.7 grams, it has a total of 26 printing surfaces of different shapes, 18 square ones and 8 triangular ones, each side is 20mm equally, of which 14 square printing surfaces are engraved with different text, which can serve different purposes such as court uses, government official orders, laws issuance, and letters to friends and family members. The printing on the seal is a Kai calligraphy font in Yin format (a.k.a. white letters), the text engraving skill is powerful and straight, there is also a strong influence of Wei calligraphy on the text, as Dugu Xin lived in the period when the Chinese text transformed from Wei font to Kai font. This product as pictured is a modern bronze replica.
Dugu Xin, the owner of this seal was an important general and official in the Western Wei and Northern Zhou Dynasties in ancient China at the 6th century. He was a clansman of the Xianbei tribe. History records that he was "Extremely handsome, good at riding and archery". Dugu Xin’s family had deep influences in China history during the 6th~7th century. Dugu Xin had 7 daughters and 6 sons, his eldest daughter was the wife of Yuwen Yu, the Emperor of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, and the fourth daughter is Queen Yuanzhen, the mother of Li Yuan, who was the first emperor of the Tang Dynasty, and the seventh daughter was queen Wenxian, who was the wife of Yang Jian, the first emperor of the Sui Dynasty. Because he had three queen daughters, Dugu Xin was later known as the "China's No.1 father-in-law."
