Built in 1240's, this small gothic chapel is one of the mostinspiring visual experiences of Paris. Much of this is due to itsstained glass windows which essentially surround the entire upperfloor. On the right is one of the twelve apostles.
Thelower chapel is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, whose statue standsfreely next to the central pier of the portal. Low vaulted ceilingsrest on fine columns with crocketed capitals, linked by anchor bracesmade of wood or stone. The walls are decorated with trefoiled arcadesand twelve medallions representing the Apostles.
The French architects took intensive care when building a church. Even the door knob was finished with details.
