因空襲新不列顛島的被俘盟軍英名錄
——太平洋戰爭中因空襲轟炸新不列顛島日軍而被俘的盟軍戰俘之命運

 
在日軍於1942年1月底攻占新幾內亞的新不列顛島之後,原澳軍亞包守備部隊(雲雀支隊)的官兵在被俘後不到半年,其軍官被運往日本,監禁起來,所幸他們這些人戰後都獲救,順利返回澳洲【詳見:作為戰俘於戰後幸存之澳軍“雲雀支隊”軍官】;而士兵則被送往中國的海南島,擬讓他們在那裏做苦工,但因日軍運輸艦在運送澳兵之航行途中,於1942年7月1日淩晨被一直尋機複仇的美軍潛艇擊沉,全部澳兵以及押送他們的日軍衛隊葬身於呂宋海【詳見:戰時與日軍運輸艦同沉洋底的澳軍“雲雀支隊”大兵】。因此,日軍此後在亞包關押的盟軍戰俘,基本上就沒有了被俘之成建製的澳軍官兵,而主要的是該年年底從新加坡轉運過來的幾十名英軍炮團官兵【詳見:南太平洋孤島:盟軍戰俘陰魂不散】、數千屬於英軍的印度兵、部分荷屬東印度(印度尼西亞)的印尼兵【詳見:勝利的喜悅——《南太平洋祭》(28)】、以及從中國運來的1500多名被俘華軍官兵【詳見:到亞包的中國戰俘勞工人數——《南太平洋祭》(7)】。日本投降後,上述這些盟軍戰俘的幸存者,於1945年9月都被澳軍解救出來。
 
實際上,在日本占領下的亞包,還曾關押過超過150名的其他盟軍戰俘(包括幾名被俘的盟國平民)。這些盟軍官兵是在1942年日軍占領新不列顛島後至日本投降前,因對亞包和日軍在新不列顛島的其它軍事要地進行轟炸和空襲等行動的過程中,因飛機被擊落或機械故障被迫降落於該島等原因,而被日軍俘虜。
 
上述被俘的盟軍官兵,主要來自美國陸軍航空隊(USAAF)、美國海軍陸戰隊(USMC)、美國海軍(USN)、澳大利亞帝國陸軍(AIF) 、皇家澳大利亞炮兵(RAA)、皇家澳大利亞空軍(RAAF)、皇家新西蘭空軍(RNZAF)。他們囊括了當時盟軍西南太平洋戰區的海、陸、空三軍兵種,軍階由列兵到上校不等。
 
這些在空襲和轟炸新不列顛島日軍過程中被俘之盟軍戰俘,大半在被俘後被日軍殺死,其他部分則多因傷重死亡或病歿,或者失蹤,隻有不到30人,因最終被送到日本關押而在戰後獲得解救。
 
下麵是在1942年至1945年間因執行空襲或轟炸新不列顛島任務而在該地區被日軍俘虜的盟軍戰俘人員名單。每個名單的排列順序依次為:軍銜、姓名(少數人隻有姓,個別人未知姓名)、所屬國家之兵種;破折號之後則為最終去向(結果)及日期(如果能夠確認的話)。
