關於美國槍擊案的數據調查

不知道大家是不是已經忘了昨天的爭論？我答應的要找關於槍擊案的資料，我確實找到了。

首先，我要說抱歉，我在討論的時候，卻是是根據自己的主觀印象說了：美國槍擊案應該一個月不到一起。這主要是我主觀認為，美國槍擊案，都會被媒體大幅報道，一般來說，我都應該能夠知道。美國的媒體，總是報憂不報喜。這倒不是美國媒體高尚，而是源於自由競爭。美國好人好事是不會被特別報道的。但是對於壞事情，總是被媒體第一時間曝光。

出於這個原因，我在昨天的討論中自以為是了，就覺得自己沒有看到那麽多的報道，感覺沒有那麽多槍擊案，實際上美國的槍擊案確實非常多！這裏陳懇道歉！就是單純為自己當時的沒有依據的憑感覺道歉，請不要多想！因為我覺得群裏有些小朋友，會多想。比如，我昨天帖子裏說了下“年輕人”，就有人不爽。實際上，我確實是非常羨慕你們的年輕的。當然，你們現在不理解，等你們到了我這個年紀，我相信也會一樣羨慕年輕。

好了，我還是言歸正傳：為昨晚的胡說道歉！！！！

下麵，我們首先看看美國關於槍支相關的死亡情況：

我用的是維基百科的資料。維基百科的好處是包羅萬象，壞處是準確率大約在80%，是2014年的統計。不過，我覺得我們這個案子還是可以使用的。因為那裏麵20%的誤差主要集中在觀點爭議性網頁，有不同觀點的雙方會修改資料。而我們的案子，都屬於統計數據，我也看了維基百科的引述出處，他們都有表明，每段[ ]裏麵的數字，就是他們資料來源地原始出處。比如下麵一段文字的[3]，就是出自美國政府的官方網站: FastStats: Mortality - All firearm deaths. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/homicide.htm (accessed July 27, 2015).

為了驗證準確性，我特意下載了這個政府文件，在裏麵找到了維基百科的相關數據。如果有人感興趣，可以聯係我。

所以，我認為維基百科下麵的數據是可靠的。

因為維基百科在中國大陸無法打開，所以，我copy了網頁上相關描述：

簡單介紹一下：2013年33169人死於槍支相關，其中21175死於自殺，11208死於他殺。看起來確實很多。美國2010年的數據：67%的他殺案件都是槍殺。

那麽美國一年的他殺案死亡人數是多少呢？

我又找到資料：

簡單說：美國2013年他殺死亡人數是：13716人，包括非故意殺人。很有意思的一點，這句話的最後說了：從1960到1996年，總共他殺了666，160人。為什麽提及這個？因為我後來想做一下對比研究的時候，發現有一篇很流行的帖子：中國每年刑事案件死亡人數有7萬人。那個帖子上提及美國一年的謀殺死亡人數是40萬。那篇帖子說這個數據來源於：The United States of America Crime Commission。我看到這個名字就非常好奇：哪個國家會這麽無聊成立一個犯罪委員會呢？

但是我還是google了一下，果然，美國沒有這樣的機構。相反，Google給我指向的相似機構是：The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice（預防犯罪和刑事司法委員會）。但是這不是一家政府部門。

這讓我警覺，不再敢相信網絡上關於中國相應死亡人數的帖子，但是我也沒有能夠找到政府相關的網站，關於這個方麵的帖子。

通過這個事情，我覺得有兩點可以反思一下：1，中國的一些網絡帖子引用的美國方麵數據是否可信？2，中國政府為什麽不像美國政府那樣提供權威的年度信息？

 

下麵，我們談談槍擊案的數據。我查了一下，槍擊案，在美國有特定的定義。根據FBI的定義：超過4名以上受傷或者死亡（不含凶手）的槍殺事件，稱之為槍擊案（mass shooting）。

It has been reported that more mass shootings occur in the United States than in other countries. Although the frequency of mass shootings varies upon their definition, it has been reported that 31% of public mass shootings occur in the U.S despite the U.S. having only 5% of the world's population,^[10][16] CNN reports that "there are more public mass shootings in the United States than in any other country in the world, according to a new study."^[10]

The frequency in which mass shootings occur varies upon definition. Mother Jones which ran a series of articles on mass shootings stated that as of 4 December 2015, there have been four mass shootings in that year. In contrast, in "Behind the Bloodshed", a report by USA Today, has stated that mass killings occur every two weeks and that public mass killings only account for 1 in 6 of all mass killings.^[11]

Other media outlets have reported that hundreds of mass shootings happen in the United States in a single calendar year, citing a crowd funded website known as Shooting Tracker which defines a mass shooting as having four or more people injured or killed.^[6] In December 2015, the Washington Post reported that there had been 355 mass shootings in the United States so far that year.^[17] In August 2015, the Washington Post reported that the United States was averaging one mass shooting per day.^[18] An earlier report had indicated that in 2015 alone, there had been 294 mass shootings that killed or injured 1,464 people.^[19] However, an article from Reddit stated that 42 percent of the incidents involved zero deaths and only one deaths in 29 percent of incidents.^[20] Shooting Tracker, the site that the media has been citing has been accused of inflating statistics.^[8][21] According to the Huffington Post, using the definition used by Shooting Tracker, 57% of mass shootings in the United States between 2009 and July 2015 involved a family member or intimate partner and 81 percent of the victims were women and children.^[14]

簡要說一下數據：美國2015年，根據華盛頓郵報報道，一個發生355起這樣的槍擊案（但是沒有說明死傷人數）。早期的一份報告說2015年一年有294起，傷亡一共1464人。根據Reddit網站的一篇文章，其中42%起是零死亡29%是一個人死亡（我有點糊塗：那樣的話，就不符合FBI的定義）。

顯然，這裏的數據有點兒混淆。為了確保數據準確，我有找到下麵的“槍擊案”網站：

這個網站顯然是希望控槍人士建立的。我下載了網站的數據CVS文件，根據這個網站，美國2015年槍擊案330起，死亡367人，受傷1317人。

因為時間的關係，我沒有辦法每個案子看。我隻是隨機看了一個去年11月27日發生在我們加州首府Sacramento的案子：2死2傷。警察報告顯示：有幫派參與。所以，是一件涉黑案件。

也就是說，美國一年死亡368人的這些槍擊案，包括了黑社會的火並。

以上就是我對於昨天在群裏的討論中，隨口說的一個槍擊案的數據的調查。我不想給自己借口開脫，所以，隻能說一聲抱歉：我當時隻是憑印象說美國一年槍擊案發生很少。這是錯誤的。基本上每天都會發生，隻是可能因為各種原因，我們並不知情。我對於我的那個隨口一說，表示道歉。

 

美國槍擊案的發生，與美國的曆史有關。因為美國的自由就是人民通過武裝獲得的。所以，美國對於人民擁槍的自由，是從憲法上給予保護的。但是這也造成一個現實的問題：美國擁槍殺人的情況要高於其它任何方式。比如上麵說的數據：他殺（包括謀殺和非故意殺人）中高達67%是槍殺。現在這個問題已經成為美國社會的一個熱門話題：禁槍。基本上，這也是美國共和黨和民主黨在內政上的一個重大分歧。但是，禁槍是不是就能夠解決殺人的問題呢？沒有槍，人們是不是就不殺人了呢？我想，這是一個見仁見智的問題，留給讀者自己思考吧。
