原來買了便宜的房子也會foreclosure

有一個屋主賣房，有一段很奇妙的話，這兒是原話：

“Unfortunate circumstances provide investment opportunity for your buyer. Great location, schools and acces to all. Won't last. Bring offers today! We have a positive relationship with the lender. Buyer to satisfy themselves to all room sizes above. Mello-roos amt taken off property profile. ”

查了一下，屋主是2000年買的房，才33萬，現在值差不多60萬。但因為是short sale，才賣50萬。我開始想了很久也沒有明白為什麽會是short sale：即使賣50萬，也比原來的loan amount($33萬)多啊！後來終於想明白了，原來屋主弄了個home equity credit line，把房屋淨值換成了現金，估計是買了好車或者作其他享受了，亦或是去投資去了，現在還不上這筆貸款了。的確是unfortunate circumstances. 不過估計這麽做的人還是少數，至今隻見到一個這樣的例子。
