Below is the originate text in Chinese that i receive from Dr. jack He.. After I read about the true story of a kid's passion for life when he battled cancer and the poem written by him when he was only 12. I decided to translate it into English and share with all of you. I hope it will inspire you like it did to me. There will be a foundation set up in memory of him and his inspirational true story.
English Translation
A 16-year-old cancer patient's poem (written at age 12 for his parents), 2008-07-05 21:31:57.....by Dr. Jack He
" I just received a letter from a mother who was desperately crying out for help regarding his dying son who was only 16 year-old. He was already in palliative care due to his advanced stage of cancer. In addition to supporting the therapies, there was no indication of other treatment options, so, I expressed my opinion. But I knew that this opinion did not give the patient and his parents any hope. That is my greatest regret"!
"I hope we all start now for cancer prevention by changing our lifestyle, and thereby reducing the probability of having cancer. Here was the mother's partial letter to me. I removed the patient's heatlh condition info. and his name. However, the poem is in its original words written by the patient when he was only 12, according to his mom. The patient died at 16".

"A sixteen-year-old kid, ah! He earned good grades, third prize winner of the English Translation Contest, was the World Children's Bronze Award, first prize in the National Children's Painting Contest, local competition third prize winner of spoken English, was top in writing in his school. This was the poem written by him".

Mountain, Water
Father is like a mountain, mother's love resembles water
If I could observe the mountain and water from all directions
If I could personally hug mountain, embrace water
I would drift to the edge of the world and forever searching
I would chase after life's happiness and enjoy life to the fullest extent
The benevolent mountain accomodates the towering green old trees
And provides home to every little grass who is willing to stay
Water's wisdom is to except the past and tolerate the future
Water is ever flowing
That's her destiny
Mountain is willing to stand by here
Water can't grant this short life an extension
It's like the busy reflection on water
It can't open the door for immortal life
Mountain's hopeful smile remains on everyone' face
Time cannot carry away this heart of mine...
Water prays for more and more smiles...

Mountain sits and waits there because of hope

剛剛收到一位母親的求救信，但病人已經處於終末期了，除了支持療法以外，沒有治療的指征了，因此，我也表達了我的意見，但我知道這個意見沒有給病人及他的父母帶來任何希望的，真是慚愧啊！
癌症的防治重點在預防，希望大家從現在做起，改變自己的生活方式，從而減少癌症發生的概率。
下麵是這位母親的寫給我的信，我去掉了病情介紹部分及孩子的名字，但將這位16歲癌症患者寫的詩發表在這裏，據他的媽媽講，這是4年前12歲時候寫的！
信的部分內容：
一個十六歲的孩子啊！他成績優秀，是全國英語翻譯大賽的三等獎得主，是世界兒童畫的銅獎，是全國兒童畫的一等獎，也是地方上英語口語大賽三等獎的得主，語文很好，作文是學校的第一名，還有一首詩歌也寫得好極了！
