I did some research...

Very timely sharing.  Thx.  I'm in the middle of bidding for a house on Hubzu.  Feel so relieved to see your post before I got an offer!  :)

I read all the posts on your link above and also a link provided by an agent who closed two transactions w/ these folks (http://activerain.com/blogsview/3128392/altisource-gohoming-and-premium-title-of-california-problem-transactions).  Pretty bad experience overall but the good thing is (probably the only thing that made me feel better) they are probably not crooks - just dishonest, incompetent, one-sided dealing, you name it.

So I guess it takes a brave heart and a very high-level of torlerance to uncertainty and one-sided dealing to close a transaction with these jokers.  The only hope it the property you get worth all the pain you have to suffer during the process.

It turns out this Hubzu (f.k.a gohoming.com) is actually owned by a public company (Altisource(TM) (Nasdaq: ASPS), which claimed to have closed 60k home sales already.  This gives me some level of comfort but still not sure if it worth the time and uncertainty to continue bidding on the property I'm interested now.

Any way,  hope this helps you and others who read this in some way as well.

Happy hunting!
