Romney is going to lower the tax rate, but through closing loopholes and cutting deductions, his plan is going to be revenue neutral. He will collect the same amount of money. (if that is the case he isn't actually lowering the tax rate - but that's another discussion.)
He pledged in the debate that his plan would lower taxes for the middle class. If the middle class is paying less, but the same amount of money is being collected, who is paying more? How is this different than raising the tax rate on the wealthy?
