Is your heating system a gas furnace?

1. Blower fan uses high speed for cooling and lower speed for heating. 

2. Gas furnace has an inducer motor to vaccume your furnace exhuast out.

More detail infos are needed for further debug. You may ask your HVAC guy what motor he want to replace.
