上次詢問，好像應該轉，因為更多低費用的投資選擇。昨天打電話給fidelity 準備轉，問及有什麽negatives. fidelity agent 提醒我說， 403b裏的錢被ERISA 保護， Once you roll over your 403(b) funds into an IRA, they are no longer protected by ERISA. ERISA primarily governs employer-sponsored retirement plans, such as 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, and pension plans, to ensure certain standards of fairness, transparency, and security for participants.

雖然IRA裏的錢也有一定的保護，比如IRA funds may not be protected by ERISA, they may still have protection under other laws, such as federal bankruptcy law and certain state laws.。 但對於很多地主擔心的law suit, 這個是不被保護的。

我網上自己查了一下，有些地方說IRA裏的錢如果是401K or 403b 轉過去的話，可以依然被 ERISA保護。但說法不一。不知道群裏有沒有人做過這方麵的研究。問chatGPT, 說不被保護。但chatGPT 經常性胡說八道。

但盡管IRA money 不被 ERISA保護， 但很多州有自己的法律，提供IRA裏的錢的保護。比如IL：
