瞻彼淇奧

瞻彼淇奧，綠竹猗猗。

有匪君子，如切如磋，如琢如磨，

瑟兮僴兮，赫兮咺兮。

有匪君子，終不可諼兮。

Look distantly at  the bay of Qi river,
the green bamboos, so luxuriant!
The superior person is so elegant, – 
as made of bone or ivory whenever,
as made of jade or stone moreover!
How grave is he and his dignitary!
How commanding and his majesty!
The superior person is so elegant, –
never can be forgotten for his brilliant!
