I understand (1,1,1,1) is one way to live. how to transfer to (4,1),(4,3),(3,4),(1,4)?

If a living way is (n1, n2, n3, n4), n1 + n2 + n3 + n4 = n, can you give some rules to transfer to (a1,b1),(a2,b2),(a3,b3),(a4,b4)?
