 Lanhuahua is prettiest among all the girls throughout the country.

正月裏那個說媒,二月裏定,

In the first lunar month a matchmaker came to propose marriage,
In February an engagement was decided

.三月裏交大錢,四月裏迎.
In March a bridal money was given
In April the bride was carried over the threshold

三班子那個吹來,兩班子打,
Someone beating drums while others blowing trumpets,
The bride’s escorted in bustling procession to the groom’s home.

撇下我的情哥哥,抬進了周家.
I was carried into Zhou’s, leaving my sweetie brother alone.

藍花花那個下轎來,東張西又照,
 Getting off the bridal sedan chair,Lanhuahua looked around,

找見周家的猴老子,好象一座墳.
To see a monkey --like old man Zhou, posing as a tomb over there.

I’d just leave in the afternoon If you died in the morning,

手提上那個羊肉,懷揣上糕,
Carrying off mutton in my hand and glutinous rice cake under my arm.

I was ready to risk my life running to my sweetie brother’s home.
