A proverb a day: It takes a village to raise a child.

"It takes a village to raise a child" is a proverb that means that an entire community of people must provide for children and interact positively with children for them to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment.

One dimension of it is that neighbors can share with each other on how to best raise childrien. When a kid misbehaves and his or her parents tend to be annoyed or outraged, other parents can help calm the parents down, provide perspectives, and share the best way to deal with the misbehaving of children.  The misbehaving could be an indicator of the child's need for attention. Maybe the source of the child's mishehaving is the parent themselves, reflecting how children themselves are treated at home. Such sharing of wisdom among parents will help better raise children and foster their growth.
