請教怎樣用英文表達 “攻人之惡毋太嚴”，英文有類似的說法麽

口語說就是做事留有餘地 查了下，leave adequate leeway; leave an appropriate margin for unforeseen circumstances,  有沒有更確切的英文口語化的說法呢？謝謝
