這裏跟pull something out of thin air的俗語還是不一樣的。for one thing指的是reading，不是後麵一句。

至於是不是暗喻，so far, I am not convinced yet. Even this literature criticism essay didn't say it is not literal "air"， because from Reich's theory， it is to be organic and to draw health from air. In Reich's theory, it's not related to bonds.
