是的，Halliday的歸納是給人很大啟示，語調能傳授語法信息。例如下麵句子的歧義通過語調就分清了：

She dressed and fed the baby.
可以理解成“她穿好衣服喂孩子”；也可以理解成“她給孩子穿衣喂飯”

 

但下麵讀出來得句子就沒有歧義了：

She \dressed | and fed the \baby。
(“she dressed herself”）

She dressed and fed the \baby。
(“as well as feeding, she dressed the baby”)
