I have not read any of these Hemingway's novels. But I have read many of his short stories, and each of which carries a strong message.

Hemingway was a tough guy, like what he said in "Midnight in Paris": there is nothing fine and noble about dying in the mud unless you die gracefully, and then it's not only noble, but brave."
