On etiquette

Etiquette to society is like clothes to an individual. Without clothes on, he is naked and ridiculed and will result in moral hazard; without etiquette, society would be set in a miserable situation and the necessary social interaction among members would be disturbed by unnecessary inflicts and disputes. If society were a train, etiquette would be tracks only along which the train can precede; if society were a luxury carriage, etiquette would be wheels and axis only on which the carriage can move forward. While lack of etiquette, closest friends can be enemies, friendly or allied countries can fight against each other. We can find many examples like these in history. So I advise that you always behave in good manner to anybody and try not to do things contrary to etiquette, so as to avoid offending others or making enemies.

On Etiquette

Etiquette to society is what apparel is to an individual. Without apparel, man would go shameful nudity which will surely lead to corruption of morals. And without etiquette, society would be in a pitiable state and necessary intercourse between its members would be interfered with by needless offenses and troubles. If society were a train, the etiquette would be the rails, along which only the train could rumpled forth; if society were a state coach, the etiquette would be the wheels and axis on which only the coach could roll forward. The lack of proprieties would make the most intimate friends turned into most decided enemies and friendly or allied countries declare war against each other. We can find many examples in the history of mankind. Therefore, I advise you to stand on ceremony before anyone else and to make pains not to do anything against etiquettes less you get offenses or make enemies.
