Experiments show that children can learn swimming at their very early age. In Los Ange, children even learn how to hold their breath effortlessly under water in a specially designed swiming pool. There is no sign that the two months old babies refuse to get into the water. They get used to swimming so soon that they are able to pick up things from the bottom of the pool. One of the games that these baby athelets enjoy very much is the under-water tricycle race. Tricycles are lined up at the bottom of a swiming pool of seven feet deep. The game is to see which baby will reach the other end of the pool first. Many of them pad the peddle with their feet. But most of them rather push or pull the tricycles. Some of the babies even can swming across the pool whihtout letting their face get out of the water to take a breath. Only time can tell whether they will be a future Olympic champion. Meanwhile, aren't they an inspiration for those of us who are out of breath just by swmming no more than five yards.
