一件非常麻煩的事

前段時間我在SF的一個小租車公司租了一輛車,租車的時候我簽了不能把車開到州外的同意書,但是我把車開到了Vegas. 不知道車上有什麽亂七八糟的儀器,等我回來的時候說是監視到這部車某天在Vegas某個地方,要我付penalty,按一個MILE一刀計算,後來又說打個折,按一個MILE0.29刀計算。這樣一來，雖然我租車的時候的RATE（unlimited mileage）加完稅也隻有130多,但是現在說是我至少得付900多美元.
因為我的車開回來並沒有損傷,對租車公司沒有造成經濟損失,我覺得這麽多錢不合理。我對租車公司說我願意支付一定的penalty但是現在的價格太高了，但是租車公司說不再negociate，說是如果我不付這筆錢，就上法庭告我，要我按一個MILE一刀這麽計算penalty。當時租車公司要我簽一個協定同意支付900多，說是如果這樣這件事情就了了，我沒簽。
我覺得不知道怎麽辦才好，希望這裏的XDJM們幫幫我，該怎麽辦呢？有兩個問題特別需要谘詢：
1。即使我簽訂了不能把車開出州外的同意書，我是否需要支付這麽多的penalty；
2。我並不住在SF（離N個州），如果他告我我還需要到SF出庭什麽的嗎？
真的是太麻煩了，早知道就不要圖便宜租這種小公司的車了。希望能得到你們的幫助！非常感謝！
