My kid had a elbow dislocation (Tuo Jiu in Chinese, scientifically known as nursemaid's elbow) and was treated by the doctor. I found that they charged us for emergency office visit and almost $300 for treatment. But as far as I saw, the doctor just gently rotated and pulled his arm and the whole visit with the doctor was finished in minutes.
Was the charge reasonable at all? Should I appeal and how can I do that? Please share your experience or opinion. BTW, I haven't paid the bill yet. We have insurance but the amount is within the deductible so basically the cost will come out of our pocket.
Thanks.
