Well, I believe something goes wrong here

I wanted to know whether there's a chance for me to not pay this additional 1000 dollars as this was purely a mistake made by the attorney in the previous company while I was still working for them, right?

I wonder why I should suffer for somebody else' mistake.

1000 dollars, I can buy a lot good stuff for my 5 year old :(
