I transfered my H1-B, my old company never knows

When I did my transfer, they did not ask for Employment letter from old company. And if they do need, you may ask for it from old company by telling them "I need an employment letter because my family need to go back to China and back to U.S.". I believe every HR will provide this letter. They should do it.

Anyway, seems that $1000 is not a big money compared to your current position.
