Hematology/oncologist Andrew A. Jennis, M.D., is chief of the Division of Gastrointestinal Oncology at The Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Jennis specializes in diagnosing and treating cancers of the gastrointestinal system, including cancers of the colon, rectum, anus, bile ducts, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, small intestine, and stomach. He collaborates with Co-Chief of the Division of Gastrointestinal Oncology Donald McCain, M.D., Ph.D., a surgical oncologist, and other surgeons and gastroenterologists in providing optimal care for patients with gastrointestinal cancers.

From 1995 to 2000, Dr. Jennis was associate chief of the medical center’s Adult Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplantation Program, and he has conducted numerous clinical studies in the use of stem cell transplantation to treat several types of cancer. Dr. Jennis’ research has been published in many scientific journals, including Bone Marrow Transplantation, Cytotherapy, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, and the Oncology Society of New Jersey.
