Cholesterol Total 226 mg/dL,正常範圍:100-199
HDL "Good" Cholesterol 64 mg/dL,正常範圍:> 39
LDL Chol Calc (NIH) 144 mg/dL,正常範圍:0-99
VLDL Cholesterol Cal 18 mg/dL,

“Lipid Profile:

Your lipid profile reveals elevated total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol (an unfavorable cholesterol) levels. I encourage you to follow a prudent lifestyle approach to improve your lipid profile and reduce your risk of developing cardiovascular disease. In addition, medication may be necessary to achieve healthier levels of cholesterol. I urge you to follow up with your personal physician with regard to this matter. If you need a referral for a personal physician or a cardiologist, I would be happy to assist you in finding a doctor to manage your care.”

“Metabolic Profile:

Your blood sugar is elevated. It is important that this finding be followed up by your physician in order to establish the possible diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. Early recognition and careful management of diabetes mellitus will significantly reduce the likelihood of future complications from this disease. A variety of new methods and medications have recently become available to accomplish these goals.

Your hemoglobin A1c level is slightly elevated (between 5.7-6.4%) and this is consistent with prediabetic state known as impaired glucose metabolism. It is important that you implement lifestyle changes such as weight loss through proper nutrition and exercise. Recent research documents that these lifestyle modifications may prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes in up to 58% of persons with impaired glucose metabolism. You should continue to have your hemoglobin A1c monitored annually. In addition, you should see your personal physician if you experience symptoms of diabetes such as frequent urination, excessive thirst, or unexplained weight loss.

According to the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a screening test for hepatitis C was done and is negative (no evidence of past exposure or current disease). No further testing is needed as you do not have identifiable risk factors to contract this disease.”
