But there's a recess after lunch.
I work at an elementary school now. In my school and the other schools kids go to resources in between regular classes to get exercises, do arts, check out at library and general counseling. They don't get free time until after lunch. After lunch they usually go to the playground or front yard for recess, unless the weather is bad. They watch educational videos or do indoor recess when there's bad weather.
