求助兼呼叫美國老土 - 中年大媽職業方向建議

背景：
 
有IndustrialEngineering 的碩士學位，修過計算機的一些編程和database課，在學校做RA時用SAS 做programming 和data analysis，

現狀： 
 
畢業 7年沒工作，沒有綠卡， 中年有一八歲小孩，住在小鎮，正在離婚；

求助：

已在職場的前輩們能否告知， 多大的可能可以用原來的學位和經驗找到工作，需要H1支持？ 其實一直在找，但還沒有任何結果；

對老土的課有興趣，但不能決定選哪個方向 ， SAS programming 或 BI，主要取決於哪個方向有更多的機會得到H1 支持？
