Surprised about background check!!!

 

Got a call from hiring company's HR. She told me the background check was good except a court record was found. She told me I had a "negligent driving" with serverity of "ordinance" in 2006 when I was working in another city. But my answer to the question of "Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, including a plea of guilty or nolo contendere/no contest regardless of whether a sentence is imposed by the court? If yes, please explain. Also list any arrests for which you are out on bail or your own recognizance pending trial. A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from consideration for employment, and we will consider the circumstances of each case. You may omit minor traffic violations; and convictions that have been sealed, expunged or legally eradicated." is NO.

I was totally surprised and could not speak for a while.... then she asked me to try to remember if anything happened in that time frame.. After a couple of minutes, I told her if there was anything other speedy tickets, that must be from a wrong pass in a single lane before a cross road. I passed a policman's car which was staying inside the separation block between two opposite lanes. I thought he was on duty and I could just pass - but I was really not supposed to pass as that was a single lane in one direction. The policeman gave me a warning ticket without fine, license revoke, court show-up, or jail. But 7 years later, they found a court record showing the following information :

HR people are are still waiting for my drug test result before they make final decision.Not sure what should I do to get this through? I have ordered a record from the DMV of that state, and also sent email to the HR manager who notified me with the findings. I told her more details and I was not trying to hide anything, I just did not remember that "little violation".So I answered "no." I guessed if I answered "yes" and then explained, all should be fine. Should I also call hiring manager about this - before the new company's HR make final decision? Sorry for long story, thanks for help.
