先介紹下背景吧:老板很忙,我們公司又沒有 weekly one-on-one。又因為平時我做的項目是為另一個組的小頭頭做,所以我和老板, 除了周會上,一個星期都不能見麵。
即使見麵,也不好直接說工作吧,所以都是簡單的greeting。因為他不直接管我做的項目。
所以,我就每個星期給他發個weekly report,讓他清楚我都幹了什麽。
時間一晃都大半年,聽周會說我們應該時不時的聽聽老板的反饋。於是,屁顛屁顛的跑到老板辦公室,客套一番後發問:Are you satisfied with my service here?
Manager: satisfied, very satisfied. You finished all projects by your own, right?
Me: Yes, Yes. I am glad to hear that.
Manager: I do have some goal for you. Xx project is the one I’d expect you to finish.
Me: No problem. I will wrap that project up this month.//blah blah
說來也巧,沒過幾天,碰上公司年度Performance Review. 因為要交我自己的自我評估和目標,又一次坐到了老板的辦公室。
Me: I am the first time to fill out this form. So I’m not sure whether I fill it out right.
Manager: Yes, yes. This is EXACTLY what I need.
Me: Great! About the next year’s goal, I’d like to take more responsibility like xx project.
Manager: oh, that one is tedious … I don’t expect you to do that. But it does not mean never … You are expert in A and B projects. So that may be your focus in near future.
平時,老板基本上不叫我開會。我的項目基本是新項目。開會的很多是老項目的improvement.
工作也不是很忙。別的同事任務都排滿了,做不完,都往後推。我吧,每個星期都有那麽一兩個任務,兩天就差不多搞定了。
老板情願把活分給很忙的同事,也不願意給我。真的像他說的那樣,不願意讓我做太tedious的活.
