Why did your HR notify your boss before you?

This is so unprofessional. You should always be the first one who notify your boss. But on the other hand, pending on how needed the resources are in your company, mostly of the time it doesn't really matter.  In fact, when my former bosses knew I was leaving they tried to be nicer to me.
