誠實和正直關係到你的生存和成功,總的來說要 positive。被裁的確不是什麽大不了的事。一個大的設計中心的關閉，有很多天才工程師就要從新找工作。其他招人的公司實際上是很看重這個招聘機會的。很多招工部的人都知道，被裁者不一定是應為performance 的緣故。

You may try the following: “As you know, the site was closed down in the current economy circumstances. Although I'd been doing fine with my job, unfortunately I was one of the casualties. I'm currently actively looking for a new job since I'm confident of my technical skills and I also would like to take this opportunity to find a more prospective career path and so on …”

你的自信本身就說明你的被裁與你的 performance 沒關係。以前的工作隻是你career path 的一站而已。
