CFO was in charge. But for financial analyst role it's not very practical to work remotely in the real world so the new CFO's frustration is rational as communication is the key part of that role. I think it's time for you to decide what's more important for you/your family so you can either look for other P/T jobs or switch to F/T with this organization. You can try to get more support for AS IT IS situation but I find it awkward for your boss and old CFO to push that unless you're kind of hard to replace role.
