灰衣人&other friends, regarding negotiating with boss for promotion

Here are more info as my response to all friends'questions:
My achievements does align with our department goal and my technical contribution not only qualify to get promotion(I already checked the career ladder requirement), but also helped our team significantly in a project crisis. My team lead can endorse what I said but he already moves out of this group due to the same reason. The problem is that my boss doesn't realize how important my contribution is and doesn't care much. He doesn't treat delivering project as high priority and just want to get by. His poor project management is also known fact at our project team level but he is strongly protected by his boss. At one time I also want to do internal transfer but was blocked by his boss as this project needs me.The reason I now want to stay for sometime is because that I am the one who really drives this project. Although my boss doesn't admit and tries to downplay my contribution,but he indeed needs me to drive this project as I am the only one who has experience with it in our team (besides that bad senior guy). Plus, I really like this project itself, and I can still learn a lot from it.

It's not like that I don't want to get along with my boss. I tried to listen to him at the beginning but he is just too way off and it is against my basic sense of responsibility for work and integrity to follow him. Sometimes I even think he is here to destroy our company.:(

I don't have long term plan to stay here as it's not healthy environment. But while I am still here I really want to make things right to earn what I deserve. In order to deliver this project I had worked around the clock for a long time and overcame tremendous difficulties. Also, I think I should learn how to survive and fight for myself in the corporate environment. I don't want to swallow all of unfairness quietly. I want to speak out, make some difference but I just don't know how.

灰衣人 and other friends, do you think I should talk to people worked with me from other teams to get their feedback and present it to my boss? Will it be helpful to bring up the fairness issue in our conversation? What would be the best way to negotiate with him? Any comments are greatly appreciated!
