First, do you currently have a tenure-track position at Texas? If so, it might not be worthwhile to move to Boston.
Otherwise, if you don't have tenure-track now, will the Boston tenure-track offer lead to a tenured position easily in 4 or 5 years? If so, then definitely consider to go and don't argue too much about salary. Your $85K offer should be only for 9 months, then your annual salary should be $113K. Later on, after you get your tenure, your salary will be around $130K. And remember, this is a TENURED job! Absolutely worthwhile! At this time, you should argue about start-up and teaching-load, etc.
