Have you ever ask yourself "why"? Most people will blame on someone else when conflicting with others. However, the SR DIRECTOR might have his/her points. Did you listen to him/her? I understand that it is kind of difficult to listen to him/her without any bias since he/she took YOUR project from YOU. I had the similar experiences years ago. If you could cool down, you might be able to find his/her points which might make sense.
After thinking through, you might still think you are right. You might need to protect yourself. Make sure that you keep all conversation between you and SR DIRECTOR about this project documented. Keep all documents including emails. You don't want to be the sarcrifice if the project fails in the future.
