About "deserve"

I heard some political radio show today. Someone argured that the people who will fill for bankruptcy because they purchased too expensive houses than they can afford, don't deserve financial support from the government since it is their own decision. Some other people argued back:"When there is a fire, do you think firefighters need ask what the reason for the fire before they put off the fire?"

Very good point.

We all deserve something good.

I didn't do all things right although I did try my best. There are always something which is out of my ability, such as laying off. But let us still feel good about ourselves. We deserve good life.
